Jeffrey Sperling is a seasoned attorney with over 30 years of experience representing individuals, families, and businesses throughout the Chicagoland area. His practice focuses on real estate, business law, criminal defense (including misdemeanor and felony traffic matters), and estate planning.
Jeff began his legal career as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Cook County, where he gained extensive trial experience and a deep understanding of how prosecutors evaluate and build cases. Working in one of the nation’s busiest court systems shaped his strategic, no-nonsense approach to advocacy and gives his clients a significant advantage in and out of the courtroom.
For more than 25 years, Jeff has advised clients in a wide range of real estate and business matters, including residential and commercial transactions, lease negotiations, business formation and governance, contract review, and dispute resolution. He is known for practical, results-oriented counsel designed to protect his clients’ investments and minimize risk.
In his criminal defense practice, Jeff represents clients charged with DUI, traffic-related misdemeanors, felony traffic offenses, and other criminal matters. Drawing on his prosecution background, he carefully analyzes each case to identify weaknesses in the State’s evidence, negotiate favorable resolutions, or, when necessary, aggressively defend clients at trial.
Jeff also assists individuals and families with estate planning, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related planning tools tailored to each client’s goals. He prioritizes clear communication so clients understand their options and can make informed, confident decisions about their legacy and asset protection.
Known for his straightforward advice, strong advocacy, and commitment to client service, Jeff has built long-term relationships with clients who rely on him as a trusted legal advisor for many of life’s most important decisions.
Jeff received his J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law (formerly John Marshall Law School) and his B.A. from Indiana University. He is based in the Chicagoland area and represents clients throughout the region.
